Follow Jesus

You become a Christian by becoming a follower of Jesus.

But who is Jesus?

Finding the answer to this question is the most important thing you can ever do. Even if you didn't grow up in a religious house or attend a religious school, you likely have your own opinion of Jesus. Maybe you see him as a great teacher who said wise things such as "don't judge others" or "he, without sin, cast the first stone". Maybe you think He didn't exist at all. Perhaps you think he is irrelevant to your life right now

But my question is, have you ever investigated Jesus for yourself? Have you ever read His words in the Bible?

What if everything Jesus was and said was true? What if Jesus is, in fact, God?

God, the Creator of the universe, comes to Earth to make way for you!

Jesus himself said:

"This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life. God didn't go to all the trouble of sending his Son merely to point an accusing finger, telling the world how bad it was. He came to help, to put the world right again. Anyone who trusts in him is acquitted; anyone who refuses to trust him has long since been under the death sentence without knowing it. And why? Because of that person's failure to believe in the one-of-a-kind Son of God when introduced to him." – John 3:16-18

At GCF church, we believe these words of Jesus to be true. Trusting Jesus as the way to God is not an exclusive path to God; it's completely inclusive. No matter who you are, what you've done, regardless of where you were born or the colour of your skin, Jesus is the way for you to have a relationship with God. Everybody's invited. Everybody's included. Everybody's important.

If you think you're an exception to the rule, you're wrong. Jesus loves you. Yes… you.

So how do you actually become a Christian?

Becoming a follower of Jesus means you come as you are. You don't need to follow many rules or do good deeds. To become a Christian, you need to invite Jesus into your life and BELIEVE that Jesus is God.

Look at what the Bible says:

If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord, 'and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.- Romans 10:9

That's it.

"Jesus, I ask you to be my Lord and Saviour. I am sorry for the things I've done that have caused me to live a life without you. I believe that you are the Son of the Living God. I want to know you and experience your love. Please help me to live for you. Thank you, Jesus. Amen."
